are to the top right of this blog! OR here:

I have to say Adobe Lightroom is my new best friend! I am in true LOVE with this program. More to come on that matter…

Still have many a story to share about our PR adventure, but here are some pics to share in the mean time. Enjoy!

Training Week 1 Almost Complete!

Category: Uncategorized

Finished my first long run – 4 miles today – in 34 degree (28 degree wind chill) and was mighty proud. Felt like I did ok too (i.e. didn’t feel like crashing to the ground when I got home). ;) The only bummer? I forgot to look at the clock before I left so I have no idea how long I took. I like to think I did ok on time. :)

Enjoying the weekend…a new kitchen table is on the way – yay – we finally saw Juno (cute) that we have attempted 4 times to see only to have it sold out every time we showed up to the theatre…just your normal weekend stuff….

ta ta!

New Wheels

Saucony Women's Grid Hurricane 8 - Silver/Grey/Magenta
Here are my new wheels! Saucony Women’s Grid Hurricane.

(Though they’re less shockingly pink than this picture.)

My friend Ashley took me to Team Nashville, a little store off West End…these guys are "THE GUYS" when it comes to running. They measured me a few different ways, and then had me run in a few diff. pairs outside the store to evaluate with their expert eyes. These guys won! So much for me picking out anything based on looks alone. ;)

I’ve been keeping up with my dailies (though still on a treadmill because I’m not ready to attempt 15 degree running weather)…tomorrow my new friend Stephanie (a whole post on how I met Stephanie to come!) and I will attempt our first long run of 4 miles (outdoors no less – wish us luck!).

I have to admit, these daily 2 & 3 mile runs on the treadmill have not been easy, but I’ve pushed through. Usally later in the day, I think back to my workout and I have a definite feeling of accomplishment! Looking at my training program calendar that I’ve posted in both my cube at work and at home, I am looking at Week 11′s long run – a 10 mile run, and I’m hoping later that it isn’t as daunting as it looks right now.  ;)

This has been one of the busiest work week’s ever! So glad it’s Friday! No big plans this weekend except a little bit of design stuff and I hope to get finishing up that honeymoon scrapbook and can share with y’all.

No interest in the Super Bowl at all, though I think we’re headed to a party just for the fun of it. We’ll see.

TGIF! Peace.

Day 1: I didn’t fall.

Category: Uncategorized

I was sort of preoccupied with that thought of falling and smacking my head on the treadmill as I started Day 1 this morning.

3 miles in a respectable for me anyway, 41 minutes. Did a few minutes of walking at the end of every mile for some water.

Found this training plan online.

My friend Ashley, who is running the full marathon, is taking me to Fleet Feet in Brentwood tommorrow for shoes and socks. She said they will put me on a treadmill to see how I run to determine what shoe is best for me. Ha! I think this many look funny in my work clothes, but I’m game… ;)

She also told me I have to run outside whenever possible. This should prove interesting in this cold weather… ;)

Crazy Lady

Category: Uncategorized

I have been so inspired by people who run marathons and compete in triathlons…is it crazy for me to consider my big bootie running a half marathon?

I have the "if they can do it, why can’t I?" mentality. However the they is usually those running the full Country Music Marathon, and I have my sight set on just the half. There are so many people at work that are doing it, some friends that are, and even acquaintances at the gym I’m finding are training for the race that is Apr 27.

I’ve never enjoyed running, but now the idea of ataining a goal such is this is quite intriguing. If I’m going to the gym after work I might as well have an end-goal in sight rather than just the generic "trying to lose weight" mantra.

Thoughts? :)
