I love celebrating holidays both big and small around here in our house. You’ll be happy to know that today, March 14th, is National Pi / Pie Day and is definitely a holiday worthy of a small celebration – even if it means just indulging in some yummy pie! In celebration, I’m sharing with you my great discovery of Marie Callender’s Mini Key Lime Pie desserts.

Key Lime Pie was a pie I wasn’t introduced to until I moved to the South, and boy I’m sure glad we made our acquaintances. It’s my favorite pie to serve in the Spring & Summer. It’s the perfect ending to a warm day (I know we all are looking forward to some warm days ahead!) and I am absolutely in love these individual servings of mini pies.

I’m traveling to Chapel Hill this week for the Making Things Happen conference but I left these frozen pie desserts for my boys back home to toast to National Pie Day with. Suddenly I feel like I’ve scored major mommy/wife points because of this surprise treat! I grew up in Southern California and recall eating at Marie Callender’s restaurants often. I have fond memories of my family buying pies there for all our special occasions. I think my Mom still has some of their pie tins in our family pantry to this day! It’s so nice to have access to their delicious pies in my own local grocery store.
