Meet Jessica Clinch, Client Services Manager + Assoc. Event Producer
Hometown: While I wasn’t born in the South (I am originally from New Jersey, and then lived in Maryland until I was 8), I’d like to think I got here as fast as I could! I consider my hometown to be Winston-Salem, North Carolina as I lived there for the past 13 years.
Birthday: October 19, 1991. Maryland had a weirdly late cut-off birth date for kindergarten, so I started when I was just four years old. This thus caused me to be essentially a year younger than most of my classmates and friends all throughout schooling, so I have become the “baby” of my friends group. But hey, I like my young age so I’m okay with it!
Before landing at Amber Housley: I was finishing my senior year at Elon University, earning my degree in Sport and Event Management with minors in Business Administration and Psychology. I also had the amazing opportunity to be an intern at Southern Weddings Magazine, which was a dream come true! Working in the office weekly alongside such delightful, inspirational, and talented women was a fantastic learning experience. I even had the chance to help style the first editorial shoot for V6! The picture above was taken on my last day in the office. I’ll never forget my months spent there- they were a great transition into working at AH!
My favorite thing about Nashville (so far): Oh my goodness, there are so many things that I love about Nashville! I adore that everyone is just as welcoming as they were in North Carolina, and of course the fantastic music culture. My favorite thing that I have done so far in Nashville was visit the Nashville Farmers Market and pick up a bag of fresh Georgia Peaches from The Peach Truck. They were so good, y’all!
Favorite Dessert: Homemade apple pie, hands down. Warmed up with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream? I could eat it for breakfast! It’s got fruit and dairy in it, right?
You’ll find often find me reading: I have started reading inspirational books, most recently The Power of Starting Something Stupid by Richie Norton. I love reading anything that motivates me to lead the life I want to live and stay true to my core, and this has been a great book for that so far! Next on my reading list is Love Does by Bob Goff.
My closet is full of: Tons and tons of colorful clothes in a variety of patterns, all arranged by color in ROY-G-BIV fashion. I love feminine clothes, so the majority of my closet is full of dresses, skirts, and Jackie cardigans from J.Crew, Jack Rogers, and lots of fun heels.
Last vacation: Oh my goodness gracious, the last vacation I took was my opinion of the vacation of a lifetime. My mom and I went to Italy for 10 days to celebrate my graduation and her 50th birthday. We had both been to Italy once before, I went for a month for a study abroad program and she went with my dad, but it was so special to get the chance to go together. It was even more special because we had the chance to visit Positano, which is where my mom’s side of my family is from and where some of my distant relatives still reside.
The area was naturally breathtakingly beautiful, and I could spend all day sitting by the beach, walking along the flower-adorned winding walkways, sipping cappucinos, and talking with my great great aunt and my mom’s cousins. Exploring my roots in this way was surreal. I had heard stories of the area and seen photographs of my relatives numerous times, but seeing Positano and meeting my relatives was an unbeatable experience. We then travelled to Amalfi, Ravello, Florence, Cinque Terre, Chianti, and Rome, and each brought a new wave of things to see and appreciate.
In my spare time: I love to write and paint! I have fallen in love with blogging, and have been writing in my blog, Simply Jessica Marie, for over a year now. It is a great way for me to express my voice, share my inspiration, and post about events and styled shoots I have designed.
Painting has been a hobby of mine ever since I was a little girl, and I adore exploring new ways to paint. I am about to launch my Etsy shop, also called Simply Jessica Marie, which will be full of letterpress inspirational art prints, hand lettered monogrammed canvases, and canvases painted with inspirational quotes and objects. I am so excited to pour my heart and soul into this shop, and hope that it will inspire others to live their lives centered on what matters most: love, family, faith and friends.
My motto: Let love inspire all that you do.
A Few of My Favorite Things:
My dream wedding includes:
Above all, I want a wedding full of love, God, and my closest family and friends. Although I adore all of the pretty details of weddings and can literally look through pages of wedding magazines for hours, I want a wedding that celebrates my marriage to the man of my dreams. And to have a chance to spend one-on-one time together in a secluded area like this couple did to remember our big day for the rest of our lives.
Aside from celebrating our love and vows, I have given much thought to the details of my dream wedding as I have worked in the wedding industry for the past three years. I envision a soft pink, mint and gold color palette. I love paper, so I know that I want my invitations and paper goods to be a beautiful wow factor. I love this calligraphed scroll invite by Molly Jacques.
I also dream of flowers galore! I have always held a sweet spot in my heart for floral design, and I want my wedding to be brimming with flowers. I would love a bouquet overflowing with peonies and garden roses, and am going to plan my wedding date around peony season (which is happily in the spring!). This gorgeous tented ceremony space lined with flowers by Calder Clark Designs stole my heart the second I saw it in V5 of Southern Weddings Magazine. This bouquet and flower adorned ceremony space are coincidentally from the same wedding!
I want my guests to be directed to their seats by beautiful calligraphed escort cards, which will lead them to tables delicately decorated with pops of color. Then, for dessert, I do want to have a traditional wedding cake, but I also want to serve mini apple pies!
Lastly, I want to have an abundance of fun pictures taken with my husband, my family, and my best friends. I know that I will remember my wedding day, but want to have crisp, swoon-worthy pictures to document it.
