Fabulous Finds : Stripes Inspiration + A Giveaway!

Stripes Inspiration in Clothing Products Entertaining

(All of the above sources can be found through the Fabulous Finds: Stripes Pinterest board here.)

This post kick’s off a new series on the blog: Fabulous Finds. Each Friday I’ll be sharing some of my favorite finds from some of my favorite stores and places around the internet.

This week I’m inspired by the rainbow of stripes that are popping up all over the place.

I love stripes – skinny or wide – and in the wide variety of pastels and bold colors that are arriving this season just in time for Spring. I love the idea of mixing stripes with other patterns such as this polka dot and stripe bikini or these adorable striped wooden party utensils that would be perfect for any Easter or spring party.

To celebrate the arrival of this fun new weekly blog series, I’ve teamed up with my friend Rachel of Pencil Shavings Studio for an awesome giveaway! Rachel designs fabulously colorful paper goods, tech accessories and home decor with a modern flair.  You can see all of the fabulous designs in the Pencil Shavings Studio here.

Alt Summit Wardrobe Packing List

Category: AH Living, Fashion

As you saw last week, my business cards are ready for this week’s trip to design and blogging conference, Alt Summit!

Besides wrapping up details on some projects, I’m busy packing my wardrobe for Alt. I shared my Rent the Runway selections from my trip to Engage in December and today I’m back with two more RTR dresses plus some items from my own closet to round out my suitcase.

What I'm Wearing to Alt Design Summit Conference

Keep in mind, I’ll be packing my peacoat, hat, gloves, scarves and many tights for my day session dresses to keep warm… ;) It’s going to be high’s in the 30′s during my visit to Salt Lake City…brrr!

1. For my Dinner with the editors of Better Homes & Gardens: Pink cardigan, navy and pink dot dress (both JCrew), pink studs (Kate Spade) and gold sequin ballet flats (Target).

2. Day Session: Black and White Dot Dress (Marshalls) with black cardigan, coral pink flats (JCrew), coral earrings (JCrew)

3. Clue Party (First night’s bash where you come in a color of a Clue character): I’ll be wearing this (Kate Spade) number from Rent the Runway to represent Miss Scarlett along with some black kitten heels and gold bangles.

4. For the second night’s Themed Parties: Another (Kate Spade) dress with black and white stripes that I’ll accent with some gold accessories.

5. Day Session: Pink dress (Ann Taylor Loft) with bubble necklace and black sequin flats (Old Navy).

6. Day Session: Skinny jeans (7 for all Mankind), Pink gingham shirt (JCrew), scarf (Lilly Pulitzer), white earings (JCrew).

Design Crush’s Alt Summit Wardrobe Planning + Packing List

Design Crush’s Alt Summit Schedule

I’ve completed my schedule of what sessions I’d like to attend and have already made a few meeting times with some bloggers I’d like to connect with. Have I mentioned that I’m really excited for some quality time with my roomie, Whitney English as well? Yes, can’t wait!

What do you think of my selections? I’m so excited to rock some Kate Spade dresses like always. They’re my favorite for my body type!

Rent the Runway Dress Decisions for Engage!12

Engage!12 The Breakers is less than two weeks away and I’m so excited to meet old friends and new ones in West Palm Beach, Florida. Engage! is presented by Engaging Concepts and is a luxury wedding summit that “brings together the wedding industry’s key influencers and thought leaders from around the globe to exchange ideas, network and be inspired to take their businesses to the next level of success.”

Besides the amazing content and speakers each day, there’s also a little (okay, really a lot) of fun involved. Each evening there is a spectacular event designed and produced by some of the best talent in the wedding and event world. Which gives an obvious reason to dress up!

Which brings me to…about a year ago, I made the discovery of one of the best inventions ever: Rent the Runway.

Rent the Runway allows you to have access to a dream closet and the ability to have a new designer dress for every occasion. You decide on your dress and it’s shipped straight to you a few days before your event, along with a backup size for free. Fabulous, right? Perfect for Engage!

We received a fabulous suggested packing guide in the mail (designed by the always fabulous gifts for the good life) and so the packing planning begins!

I’ll be wearing a cute Lily Pulitzer dress I purchased a few months back and was saving for the perfect occasion. I’ll be pairing it with some grey cowboy boots to wear to the “bowties and boots” Southern Chic Welcome Party. For the two other nights, I thought it would be fun to have some help deciding!

The second night is the Dine Around + Dessert Party and white or silver attire is suggested. I’ve narrowed down my selections to Option 1 and Option 2. Option 2 I may wear a black cardigan during dinner just to take the bling down a notch. :)

The last night is the grand Gala party. You can dress up as much as you like on this night. I wear shorter dresses since I always have an issue with long dresses being only 5’3″. Option 3 is the one I’m leaning toward because it is my signature color and I have some black heels that are very comfy to dance all night long in. I can wear some fun bling to dress it up a bit more, too.  Option 4 is gorgeous as well and still in for consideration.

So what do you think? Let me know which dress I should wear for each night in the comments below!
