Nashville Wedding Planning | Dressing up BBQ

Here in Nashville, we love all types of Southern food. BBQ sliders might be some of the tastiest little bites of Southern cuisine, but they sure aren’t the prettiest. When one of our clients mentioned that she and her husband-to-be wanted to pass BBQ sliders at their wedding, we knew we had to dress them up!

Brides-to-be, if you are hoping to serve BBQ at your wedding, this is the easiest way to make your sliders more wedding appropriate. We created cute little flags with the bride and groom’s initials surrounded by a heart, added them to wooden dowels, stuck them in the sliders, and voila! They were enhanced just like that, and ready to serve to the girliest of guests.

Have any of y’all found ways to dress up ordinary food for your wedding? If so, how did you do it?

Nashville Wedding Planning | Monogrammed Ceremony Aisle Runner

One of the most characteristically Southern details is a monogram. Us Southern gals love including it in every detail of our wedding, and we just love how our clients used their monogram in their wedding – they had a monogrammed ceremony aisle runner!

How adorably preppy is this? It makes such a bold statement, and we love that they are honoring their new shared last name in such a prominent manner. The monogram was a detail that we carried throughout the whole wedding, from the programs, to invitations, to the reception.Β Love this detail? Make sure to view their full wedding gallery here.

Are you planning to use your monogram in your wedding? If so, how? We’d love to hear your ideas!

Nashville Wedding Inspiration | Adding Culture to Your Wedding

We are definitely big on bringing out Southern culture into weddings here in the South. We also love celebrating other cultures and their traditions. I had the pleasure of designing a wedding for a couple who wanted to incorporate the bride’s Indian heritage, and fell head over heels for their beautiful, strong cultural ties.

One of the biggest traditions for Indian weddings is that the bride will have Henna tattoos on her hands. We researched into the background of this tradition, and this is what we found:

“Henna is a symbol of love between husband and wife. The common belief is that henna brings good luck. The bride’s intricate mehndi pattern normally has the name of the groom interwoven into it. ”

How special is that? Do you have any traditions from your heritage that you plan on including in your wedding? If so, what are they?

Nashville Wedding Planning | Dessert Bar Styling

One of the biggest wedding trends that we believe is here to stay is dessert bar styling. Brides are adapting their dessert bars and sweets stations to fit their personalities and wedding color palettes, which we love. Our clients Carli and Spence did just that, and we think their dessert bar styling was just darling!

This wedding for our clients, Carli and Spence, was carnival themed, and full of pink, yellow and green details. The entire wedding was based on having a fun, enjoyable time, so we wanted to include sweets that reflected that whimsical style. There were sweets that reminded us of our childhood, like chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered cherries, cake pops, and marshmallows that Carli made herself. They truly made us feel like we were at a carnival. They all surrounded the gorgeous white and pink wedding cake.

Good dessert bar styling has a lot to do with how you choose to display your sweets, and which sweets to include. Nashville Wedding Planning | Personalized Sweets

We love it when a couple incorporates personal details from their lives into their wedding! One of our brides, Courtney Whitmore of Pizzazzerie, whose Nashville wedding we styled and also designed a full suite of paper goods for,Β had these adorable personalized cookies made for her wedding.

Aren’t they darling? One of the cookies was made to resemble the couple’s English Cocker Spaniel, while the other had their last name on the cookie in the shape of a golf ball, since Courtney’s husband is a big golf fanatic. The cookies were made by the talented Cookies are My Canvas. If you love these cookies, make sure to check out the full wedding gallery for more style inspiration. It was also featured on Martha Stewart Weddings with more sweet details!
