Blue and Yellow Wedding Inspiration

While we often times lean toward pink weddings, but love seeing wedding inspiration for a variety of other color palettes as well! This blue and yellow wedding inspiration is absolutely perfect for Spring. It is so whimsical and reminds us of days frolicking in fields of flowers. You can’t get much more Southern than that!

Wedding Invitation Suite | Bouquet | Bride and Groom | Custom Cornhole Set | Table Setting | Custom Drinks

Set the tone for your wedding with a wedding invitation suite in pretty hues of vibrant yellow and sky blue, like the invitation suite we designed for the Song of the South editorial shoot for Southern Weddings. Carry yellow into different aspects of your wedding day by making a soft bouquet of yellow flowers, and then placing it in the basket of your bicycle to take cute newlywed pictures with your sweetheart after the ceremony.

While the two of you are taking pictures during the cocktail hour, have fun outdoor games for guests like cornhole with a custom cornhole set featuring both of your home states. After the cocktail hour is finished, seat guests at a table outdoors with pops of blue and accents of gold to brighten up the color palette. Once dancing ensues, offer guests a refreshing yellow custom drink with adorable straw flags to quench their thirst as they dance the night away!

Are you planning a blue and yellow wedding? If so, how are you tying the color palette into your big day? We would love to hear in the comments section below!

Nashville Wedding Venue | Thistle Stop Cafe

We are so fortunate that there are so many amazing wedding venues here in Nashville. The Thistle Stop Cafe, a part of Thistle Farms, is a great place to hold a bridal tea, a rehearsal dinner or a quaint wedding reception.

What we love most about Thistle Farms and Thistle Stop Cafe is that it is a philanthropic choice for Nashville couples. Thistle Farms is a social enterprise of women who have survived lives of prostitution, trafficking, addiction and life on the streets. Run by Thistle Farms’ two-year residential program Magdalene graduates and residents, the Thistle Stop Café sells Nashville-based and fair-trade coffees, teas and healthy catered foods. A venture of Thistle Farms, the social enterprise of Magdalene, the Café features food as good for the body as it is for the earth. How amazing is that?

The cafe now offers wedding and event rentals, with full use of the facility and the ability to choose from their beautiful china, coffee or tea airpots, and more.

There are so many great options to choose from this Spring! Some work perfectly for a more casual garden wedding, and others are excellent for a black tie affair. As you can see, we personally prefer classic cuts with a surprise detail, like the sequined v-neck back in the navy Camilyn Beth dress and the gold soutache trim on the baby blue Lilly Pulitzer shift dress. We also adore the idea of patterned bridesmaids dresses, whether they are soft florals like the pattern on the Jenny Yoo dress or bold stripes like the pattern on the Lula Kate dress (which by the way has pockets!).

Which dress do you love most for Spring bridesmaids dresses? Is there another style that you are envisioning asking your best girl friends to wear on your big day? Let us know in the comments below!

Nashville Wedding Planning | The Bake Shoppe

The element of a wedding that we have found ladies and gents to both have equally strong opinions about and get really excited to discuss is their wedding cake. It is hard to find a couple who doesn’t adore cake, especially with the abundance of amazing bakers here in Nashville! One of our favorites has to be The Bake Shoppe. We have used their cakes in past weddings, and can personally attest to how delicious they are!

Don’t both of those cakes make you want to grab a fork and dig in? Not only were they tasty, but they were presented beautifully too and perfectly matched the overall design of each wedding! They offer three different series of cake designs, from their classic series with six available styles from which to choose to their designer series which allows you to have more options in regard to color, design, flavor, and size, to their custom series which truly allows you to match your cake exactly to your wedding. Our designer focused mind believes that is absolutely the best way to go!

Gold Wedding Inspiration

Oh goodness. We love gold in the Amber Housley studio. There is hardly a color more glamorous than gold, and we loved coming up with inspiration for a gold wedding!

Thanks Y’all Sign | Gold Bridesmaids Dresses | Gold Signature Cocktail Sign

Champagne Cocktail | Gold Place Setting | Gold Wedding Cake

Gold glam meets Southern style with this “thanks y’all” sign, which is perfect to capture a picture of the happy newlyweds! It would be a darling picture for your thank you cards to send after the wedding. Ask your bridesmaids to find their favorite dress in a golden hue (sparkles are a bonus!) to match the color palette of your wedding.

After the ceremony, greet guests at cocktail hour with a signature champagne cocktail drink. We love how this intricate gold scroll frame enhances the look of a chalkboard sign. After cocktail hour, seat guests at tables adorned with fancy gold chargers and gold flatware. Then, treat them to a gold wedding cake to end the night!
