Mixed Metal Wedding Inspiration

There is nothing better than a mixed metals color palette for a New Years Eve inspired wedding. We love seeing how beautiful gold, silver, and rose gold look when mixed together!

This wedding invitation sweet is so incredibly amazing, with the gold foil details on each piece. It would be the perfect suite to send to your friends and family to let them know how glamorous your wedding will be. Speaking of glam, don’t be afraid to wear a variety of glamorous metals with your bridal accessories, and of course- ask your bridesmaids to each wear a different metallic color as well!

After your ceremony and cocktail hour, invite guests to sit at a table donned with rose gold sequin linens and gold flatware. Then, invite them to try a variety of sweets at your dessert table that has a stunning silver backdrop. And at the end of the night, allow them to send you off in style by tossing confetti from bags that have pretty gold glitter on them!

Jewel Tone Wedding Inspiration

Another gorgeous wedding palette for fall is a jewel tone wedding palette. It is full of rich color, and there are so many fun ways to incorporate the variety of colors with all of your wedding details from flowers to cake!

If you want to just add a subtle hint of jewel tone into your wedding invitation suite, we recommend doing so with a fun colored envelope, like the deep emerald one shown above. You could choose any color in the palette that you prefer!

For personal details, you will really get to include all of the colors in your palette. Flowers are the most fun way to do so, by choosing a wide selection of colors and shapes and tying everything together with a colorful bow. You can also ask your bridesmaids to wear dresses in different shades and shapes to complement each other.

After your ceremony, invite guests to the reception and ask them to find their seats with these amazing jewel shaped acrylic escort cards. Have them sit at a farm style table that has both a fabric and floral table runner, really intertwining the jewel tone palette into the fall season. After dinner and dancing is over, ask them to join you as you cut the cake and take a taste of this simple but delicious wedding cake.

Hometown: I grew up in small town Cedarburg, Wisconsin, the most quintessentially American town you’ll ever visit. It was the most perfect place to grow up, and I love visiting – and yes, I still love the crazy winters they have! Now, I live in Nashville, and have for 6 years now, so it definitely feels like home, and the southern culture makes me want to stay forever.

Birthday: April 3, 1990. Right on my due date… what I equate to my timelines and organized nature!

Before landing at Amber Housley: I was (and still am) working for a boutique market research firm. I love forming and maintaining client relationships, and truly enjoy learning about people, their passions, and how I can best serve them. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Vanderbilt University, both related to human and organizational performance and leadership. I was also an intern at Martha Stewart Living, and loved every minute of my time there, surrounded by creatives all day every day sounds perfect to me! Weddings have always been a passion of mine, and I am incredibly excited and fired up about working with couples to make their day unique and unforgettable.

My favorite thing about Nashville (so far): All of the amazing restaurants! I consider myself a “foodie” and love to try new, local places for any meal of the day. I try to make it a priority to get out and enjoy all of the city has to offer, which means trying at least one new restaurant each month, which isn’t very hard to do! I also love the Southern hospitality and warm feel of the city, even making locals feel welcome!

Favorite Dessert: Is it possible to pick just one? I guess my all time favorite dessert is a tie between homemade coconut cake and out of the box Funfetti cake. There’s just something about Funfetti that get’s me every time… maybe the sprinkles?!

You’ll often find me reading: Southern Living, Garden & Gun, and all things “wedding” including my all time favorite wedding magazine, Southern Weddings. I love the heart and soul behind all of these publications and enjoy immersing myself in as much southern culture as possible. I am always learning something new about this fabulous part of the country!

My closet is full of: Lots of dresses! I love bold stripes and polka dots, as well as more simple, solid colors and patterns. To keep choosing outfits easy, my closet is organized by color, which makes getting ready in the morning a breeze!

Last vacation: I was in Dallas this past weekend for a girls getaway with my mom, best friend, and her mom. It was so nice to relax, spend quality time together, and simply catch up. My last true “vacation” vacation was over Labor Day – my fiancé and I went to a little oceanside resort in Florida for a long weekend of rest and relaxation, and one last summer hurrah!

In my spare time: I love to bake, run, travel, and plan my own wedding – set for May 16, 2015! When life gets a little bit chaotic, I turn to my KitchenAid mixer, chocolate, and a glass of prosecco and whip up some incredibly delicious sweet treats. I don’t have much free time, but when I do, I make the most of every minute!

My motto: Make each day matter. Life is way too short, and I strive to make the most of every single day. This often means spontaneous dance parties, breakfast for dinner, time with my sweet family, and following my passions, as crazy as they sometimes are!

My dream wedding includes:

Signature Drinks | Balloons | Jenga | Heart Shaped Biscuits | Wedding Bell

As I finalize the details of my dream wedding, a consistent theme has been authenticity. Both Grant and I want our day to center around what matters most to us, our families, and our friends. We hope our guests feel celebrated, appreciated, and welcome on the most important day of our lives! In order to achieve this, my focus has been on the details… oh so many details! It’s a good thing I love lists, DIY projects, and spreadsheets, because we have so many special little things that are going to make our day awesome.

Signature drinks can set the tone for any celebration. We are choosing a “his” and “hers” drink, and both will reflect our personalities and tastes.

A party isn’t complete without balloons! We will have confetti filled balloon bouquets throughout the plantation, and I hope they make our guests smile.

I want to foster the blending of families and friends, and I think lawn games are the perfect way and will encourage a little friendly competition! My grandfather is making us a giant Jenga set, which will be so fun to use post-wedding with our own little family someday. We’ll also have horse shoes and personalized corn hole boards.

Aren’t these heart shaped biscuits adorable? My fingers are crossed that our caterer can create something just as sweet for our own biscuit bar!

Keeping with true southern tradition, I love the idea of incorporating this “ring for a kiss” bell!

We designed these pretty invitations filled with stripes, royal blue and poppy red details and a slight nautical touch. I hand lettered the envelopes, and our very own Jessica of Simply Jessica Marie designed this watercolor map of Cedarwood so that all of the guests would know where each activity was taking place.

A dockside ceremony started the day, and we still cannot get over how incredibly stunning the view is and how beautiful the florals are that the Cedarwood Weddings team designed! Everyone looked oh so dapper, all thanks to Opulent Couturier’s impeccable styling.

We just adored featuring some of our favorite Nashville food trucks in this shoot. Supporting local artisans is something that we love as a community in the South, and was a perfect fit for our fun and fancy free wedding! The guests got to try some darn good barbecue from Pappy’s Mobile Cafe, enjoy a sweet treat from Legato Gelato, and take a bag full of the most delicious peaches from The Peach Truck home with them as favors.

After getting their food from the food trucks, everyone grabbed a Cheerwine and took their baskets full of food over to this red, white and blue picnic inspired table to enjoy.

And we all know what comes after a main dish, cake and signing the guest book of course! How incredible is that fishing inspired grooms cake by Patty Cakes? It is so realistic and ties in perfectly with our fishing inspired guest book.

After dessert, the guys got to relax a bit by the bar near the airstream, and then joined everyone for some lawn games. The kids loved the chance to get changed into their bathing suits and play in the sprinkler!

Of course, our bride and groom needed some special alone time, so while everyone else was playing lawn games they snuck away for a private boat ride on the lake followed by toasting marshmallows by their own secluded campfire.

And it obviously wouldn’t be the right end to the day unless two of the groomsmen jumped in the lake! We could not be happier to have gotten the chance to work alongside such amazing creatives for this shoot, and are so honored to have it featured in Southern Weddings. We hope it provides inspiration for any of you who are planning your own wedding! And if you are, or if you are an avid wedding lover like everyone on our weddings team, make sure to pick up a copy of the magazine in the Southern Weddings shop.

Emerald and Pink Wedding Inspiration

We love the idea of an emerald and pink wedding around the holiday time! It is a fun and feminine twist on the traditional red and green color palette.

Emerald and Pink Wedding Inspiration | Amber Housley Weddings

Invitation | Emerald Clutch | Bouquet | Bridesmaids Dresses | Table Setting | Wedding Cake

How darling are these emerald and pink Save the Dates? They would be the perfect way to set the tone for your wedding. We love how the gold complements the invitations, so we decided to incporporate it throughout the entire design of the color palette. For instance, in the darling gold and emerald jeweled clutch, which would be perfect for either the bride, her bridesmaids, or guests. We also incorporated gold into the glittery ribbon that is wrapped around the stunning pink and green bouquet.

Ask your bridesmaids to coordinate with your color palette by wearing emerald dresses that they are sure to love and want to wear even after your wedding. Then, invite them along with your wedding guests to sit at a beautifully designed and colorful table setting. At the end of the night, treat your guests to a dessert bar with a variety of mini cakes, including this precious mini emerald cake.

Are you planning a holiday wedding? If you are thinking of having an emerald and pink wedding, make sure to take a look at our Emerald and Pink Wedding Inspiration Pinterest board for ideas!
