Crazy Lady

I have been so inspired by people who run marathons and compete in triathlons…is it crazy for me to consider my big bootie running a half marathon?

I have the "if they can do it, why can’t I?" mentality. However the they is usually those running the full Country Music Marathon, and I have my sight set on just the half. There are so many people at work that are doing it, some friends that are, and even acquaintances at the gym I’m finding are training for the race that is Apr 27.

I’ve never enjoyed running, but now the idea of ataining a goal such is this is quite intriguing. If I’m going to the gym after work I might as well have an end-goal in sight rather than just the generic "trying to lose weight" mantra.

Thoughts? :)

Hey Amber! I am actually about to start training to run the half marathon myself. I really need to get in shape and having a goal helps. If you decide to do it, please let me know. Maybe we can run together on the weekends.
BTW, we received our thank you cards from Vista Print today. They are beautiful! Thanks again and again!

I started training for one last year, but my running partners both got hurt, so I used it as an excuse to stop. I am not a runner either, but I loved it and can’t wait for Bean to be born and the weather to be warm to get out and run again. Just to get out after work and run 3-miles was a great way to end the day.
There are tons of places on the Internet that will give you training ideas. Go the website of the race you are going to run and they might have a training schedule for you.

Hey Amber,
Some girls at work and I are training for the Nike Half marathon in San Francisco in October. You should do it with us, you get a Tiffany-designed bracelet at the finish line…

I know several people who are also running in it and some that are walking it. I just don’t think this is something I am even remotely ready to do. Maybe next year. Good for you for making the commitment!

Julie says:

I’ll cheer you on from So. Calif. How’s that sound?
