Why We Celebrate Sweet Life Sisterhood Week

If you’re new around these parts, you might be wondering: “What’s the Sweet Life Sisterhood?” and “Why do you have a whole week to celebrate it?” 

Well, let me tell you a little story.

Ten years ago, I was working full-time as a marketing exec while working my side hustle where I was creating wedding invitations, planning weddings, and saying yes to everything that came my way. Oh, and I had just had my first child.

No big deal right?

I was just on a roll, but I realized a couple of years in that I had neglected a thing or two.

Like my social life. And myself. 

I had brought so much energy to building my businesses and my family, but when I slowed down a bit and looked up, I realized…

I didn’t really have anyone to celebrate with. To commiserate with. To cheer on.

It hit me hard, and I was craving connection with other people and especially with women business owners.

Have you been there, sister? Feeling lonely in your business and not knowing what to do? 

I have. But I knew there had to be a fix.

So I started planning in-person events — like Inspired Retreat — and offering my marketing strategy services to women business owners.

My 1:1 coaching morphed into a community of women I now call the Sweet Life Sisterhood.

And oooh, girl! Is it ever sweet!

Now that we’re nearly 3 years into officially building this community, I’ve made it a habit to celebrate it every year. And next week, starting March 16th, we'll be talking about what it means to be a Sweet Life Sister.

I’ll also be featuring FIVE Sisters and what they represent within the group, but I’ll share two of them with you today. Aren't you special!?

Meet two of our Sweet Life Sister spotlights!

As part of our Sweet Life Sisterhood celebration, we highlight a “theme” for each day of the week and explain why it’s a cornerstone of our community and a major component of our Sweet Life Manifesto.

This year’s themes are:

• Create a joyful life

• Never stop learning

• Write your own success story

Be a cheerleader

Sisters in the Sisterhood don’t just jump into a Facebook post from time-to-time, or just hide in the shadows. They text, call, or comment on a friend's social posts to encourage her. They celebrate each other’s wins. They talk about LIFE just as much as they talk about BUSINESS. One of the women in our sisterhood stands out as a shining example of a Sweet Life Sister cheerleader:

Working with women on their lifestyle, health, and wellness, Shannon is just naturally wired to be a cheerleader. After joining our community, she has found plenty of Sisterhood support, answers, experiences, and feedback. And, as a Blooming Business Inner Circle member, she has also learned the value of investing in her own business so she can pour into others!

Create a joyful life

In the Sisterhood, I love how we all define a “joyful life” differently. But it’s so important for all us to create that joy in our lives. The Sweet Life Sisters get out of their routine and do something that brings them joy regularly! Of course, one woman stands out as someone who is continuously working toward creating her joyful life. 

 

CARA HEARD, owner of Lush Art, a paint and sip studio, and Escape Artists, an escape room business.

                                                                                                                                                                  You can tell by her businesses that Cara is a woman who loves finding adventure and making memories. She’s been a Sweet Life Sister for over 3 years, and loves connecting with other women who are strong and creatively
successful. With the help of the Sisterhood, Cara has also become much more consistent and deliberate with her marketing and says she feels better equipped to spend her time and money.
