As a business owner, you know the power of social media in growing your reach and engaging with your audience.
However, I’m sure you’re also familiar with the struggle to keep content fresh, and to make sure you are up-to-date on the latest trends and algorithm changes.
It seems like things can change overnight, doesn’t it?!
Believe it or not, though, I think it’s entirely possible to see success on the platforms without drowning in news updates or crazy new tactics.
In fact, I’ve grown my brand’s reach (and my revenue!) on platforms like Facebook and Instagram without using any “hacks” or intense scheduling campaigns.
Instead, I’ve grown it all through some simple but proven processes and frameworks.
I know a lot of my sisters are constantly wondering what they can do to see more results on social media — especially Instagram.
From what to share in your feed to how you can get more followers and clicks to your #linkinbio, you probably have a lot of questions.
Below, I’m going to share three of my best Instagram tips for those who are just getting started with their Instagram marketing.
1. Post regularly, and with intention.
There’s one thing about social media for your brand: it can get tedious. I know, sister! I’ve been there!
But when it comes to really seeing growth in your business as a result of your Instagram presence, I highly recommend creating a regular posting schedule and creating content that is engaging, with a clear call to action.
By posting regularly, you up the odds that you’ll show up in your followers’ feeds. The more content they see from you, the more they will engage with it — and that in turn feeds the algorithm!
While I don’t want you to focus too much on the algorithm, just remember it’s like a cycle: post regularly, get seen more. Get seen more, get more like engagement. Get more engagement, get seen more. It goes on and on!
2. Lean into the magic of hashtags.
Do you remember when hashtags first became a thing?
I do. I thought they were strange at first, and then I immediately understood the value in them. By using a hashtag, you can essentially connect your content to people who are directly interested in it!
How exciting is that?!
When you want to boost your Instagram followers, engagements, and brand visibility, I’d recommend taking a good hard look at your hashtags.
Look at brands similar to your own, at posts or accounts you love following, and play around with the hashtag search bar in Instagram.
See which hashtags have the most posts or followers, and see which ones feel best for you. You don’t have to use the same hashtags for every post – in fact I advise against that.
However, I do recommend that you use hashtags in every post, even if you mix them up a bit!

3. Take advantage of Stories.
Instagram has a neat feature that I just love: Instagram Stories.
I’m sure you’re familiar with it, but just in case you’re not, Stories is the feed you see at the top of your Instagram app. Each circle represents what a specific account has shared to their “Story,” rather than directly to your feed.
Instagram admits that Stories show up in order of accounts you engage with most, whether in their posts or Stories feed.
This is good news for you, especially if you implement tip #1 above. Why? Because you’ll show up at the top of your audience’s app when they login the more you post (and the more they engage). It’s that cycle all over again.
If you want to draw eyes and get people viewing your Stories more, I recommend sharing short video content — like tips, behind-the-scenes updates, funny memes or events from the day, etc.
I also use Stories to promote my services and offers, and to ask my followers questions they can answer directly with the Instagram Stickers function.
Just get creative and have fun. I love Instagram Stories for how casual and fun you can make them!
4. Go Live!
Before you immediately skip over this step, hear me out.
Instagram Live is a really great way to share your authority, get in front of all those little circles in the Stories feed, and to create one-on-on interactions with your followers (and potential followers!).
You don’t have to go Live for a whole hour, and you don’t have to make it a whole big production.
My recommendation would be to think about one thing you can talk about for 3-5 minutes, slap on your favorite top, brush your hair, and hit that LIVE button!
Then, rinse and repeat! The more you can go Live and share small nuggets of your wisdom — or even talk about a new offer and what makes it so great — the better and more comfortable you’ll get!
5. Create content that really resonates with your followers
Want to really up your Insta skills? We need to talk about the sort of content you share.
Now more than ever, it’s critical that you creat content that your audience really wants to see. Of course, this is wildly different for every brand and business.
That’s why doing your research, and constantly checking in with your audience, is so critical to your success on Instagram.
I truly believe Instagram is one of the most powerful ways to grow your business — I have earned $200,000 in revenue from this platform alone!
I’m not unique, though. I know Instagram can be the place where your brand blossoms, too, if you just hone in on the right content for your audience, and you work to consistently show up.
Of course, it never hurts to have some expert tips and guidance on what content you should be creating, as well as advice on how to show up as your best self on Instagram!
